The announced launch date
The Steam and Xbox product listings agree on the October release date. The rights-holder announcement also identifies the launch platforms and date. Together they provide a firmer answer than an older article that gives only a year.
The game was still described as upcoming when this material was checked. This page therefore uses scheduled-release wording. It does not use the verification date as a patch date or imply that the complete campaign has already been played.
Release plans by platform
PC through Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are the platforms associated with the October launch. Official statements place Nintendo Switch 2 shortly afterward. The Switch 2 overview keeps that separate window visible.
The original Nintendo Switch is not a confirmed sequel platform in the checked list. It should not be added because the first Boltgun appeared on that hardware. The original Switch question explains the product distinction.
| Platform | Verified announced window |
|---|---|
| PC through Steam | October 14, 2026 |
| PlayStation 5 | October 14, 2026 |
| Xbox Series X|S | October 14, 2026 |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Later release; exact date not established |
Dates and regional unlock times
A store date and a worldwide unlock schedule are different information. The dossier does not establish a universal synchronized launch time across platforms. A time attached to one regional store listing should not be applied to every other region or product.
Use the PS5 store overview or Xbox store overview to identify the relevant official product. Check that product in your own store region for current availability. This keeps a dated research summary from becoming an invented timezone conversion table.
The verified demo before launch
A Steam-exclusive demo is confirmed by the developer FAQ and announcement. It contains two preview levels rather than the full campaign. The Steam guide points to the official sequel listing where the demo is offered.
