The official names are Malum Caedo and Nyra Veyrath. Some secondary results contain a different spelling for Nyra, which is corrected against the developer sources. No additional unlockable protagonist is supplied by this dossier.
One protagonist for a campaign run
The official character announcement describes choosing a character at the start for the campaign. Hands-on reporting corroborates that choice in the preview context. It gives the run a different equipment and ability set rather than establishing a multiplayer pair.
The multiplayer answer confirms the disclosed single-player plan. This page also does not establish an instant-switch system within a saved run. Those mechanics would need explicit evidence beyond the existence of two character portraits.
How Malum and Nyra differ
Malum returns with a chainsword lunge and Obliterating Charge. Frag grenades are included in the developer’s announced kit description. The Malum page explains those tools without assigning unverified cooldowns or damage values.
