A retro shooter with a broader campaign

Auroch Digital describes the sequel as a continuation of the original Boltgun story. The campaign takes the fight to new worlds rather than presenting another account of the first game’s levels. Its branching structure gives you choices about where to go next.

The developer’s September update advertises more than 30 levels across that structure. It also says that one playthrough cannot show everything. That advertised total describes the campaign’s available content, rather than a guaranteed mission count for the route you choose.

Two approaches to movement and combat

Malum Caedo returns with his chainsword and Obliterating Charge. The chainsword lunge moves him toward an enemy, while the charge is described as stronger in the sequel. Frag grenades are also part of the announced kit.

Nyra Veyrath uses Fervent Slide and a Leap to move through the battlefield. Her Power Sword and Bolt Pistol form a different starting combat combination, and a Melta Bomb adds an explosive tool. Read the character comparison for the confirmed distinction between the two protagonists.

What the playable demo establishes

The Steam-exclusive demo contains two levels and lets players try the protagonists. Official descriptions place one level in an overgrown Death World swamp and another in an icy Imperial facility. These environments provide playable context for the announced combat without representing the whole campaign.

Hands-on reports describe interactive ice and different weapon experiences in the demo. Those reports are useful observations about a preview build. They do not establish a complete retail damage model, every weapon location or the outcome of the story.
